About Our Backyard Farm

Purposeful farming.

We believe animals, humans, and nature are meant to exist in balance. Modern lifestyles often move us away from that harmony, so we’re bringing it back into our own backyard. Our animals, gardens, and natural resources work together to create a healthy, productive ecosystem that supports both the land and the life around it.

Raised with care.

We are committed to raising our animals in clean, low-stress environments with high-quality nutrition and attentive care. Every animal is nurtured to be healthy, vibrant, and well-prepared for their new home.

Tiny Hands. Big Dreams.

we believe children learn best through nature, animals, and hands-on experiences. Our mom-and-son backyard farm raises happy hens while sharing the joy of eggs, gardening, and responsible animal care with our community. We hope to inspire families and classrooms to reconnect with where food comes from.

Farm education.

Helping others learn about chickens, eggs, gardening, and backyard farming through shared knowledge and hands-on experiences. We enjoy supporting students and families who want to explore agriculture, agri-business, and responsible animal care while gaining a deeper appreciation for nature and sustainable living.

About The Founders

Mariana

Mama • Multi-Business Entrepreneur • Realtor

My love for animals and agriculture started long before Izaak’s Happy Hens. In high school, I was involved in 4-H, and served as Vice President of my FFA chapter. Those experiences taught me so much about responsibility, animal care, and the hard work behind agriculture.

I later studied Biology with an emphasis in Cell & Developmental Biology, which deepened my love for science and animal health. Because of my background, biosecurity is especially important to me when raising our flock. We take the health and well-being of our animals very seriously.

Today, I'm a multi-business mompreneur and Arizona Realtor, helping families buy and sell homes throughout the Valley. I love the freedom of being able to grow your own food, raise animals, and create a little piece of self-sufficiency right in your own backyard.

If I can help a family find a home where they have the space to grow a garden, raise a few happy hens, and create the life they've dreamed of, that's my ultimate win.

And through Izaak’s Happy Hens, I get to share that love with my son while teaching him what it means to build something meaningful, care for others, and be a little entrepreneur along the way.

Izaak

Little Entrepreneur in Training

Izaak’s Happy Hens started with a little boy, a love for animals, and a big curiosity about how a business works.

Izaak is learning every day what it means to be a little entrepreneur. From caring for our animals and helping around the farm to learning about customers, responsibility, and what it means to build a business that makes a positive impact.

Our hope is that as he grows, he’ll learn that a good business isn’t just about making money. It’s about creating something meaningful, serving others, caring for what you’ve been given, and leaving things a little better than you found them.
